Ship & debit software compared: Vendavo, Vistex, Pricefx, ERP modules and Nteli
We sell one of the options below, so read this with that in mind. We've tried to describe every tool by what its vendor publicly documents, and to be specific about where ours is the wrong choice.
The shortlist
| Option | Best fit when | What it documents | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vendavo (incl. Model N High-Tech) | An enterprise semiconductor or electronics company that wants pricing, quoting, rebates and channel data on one platform. | Rebate & Channel Manager automating ship and debit from SPA validation to claim execution; Model N's channel data management for high-volume distributor data. | Integration of the two product lines is ongoing after the 2026 acquisition; confirm which product you are buying and the roadmap for it. |
| SAP Paybacks and Chargebacks by Vistex | The ERP is SAP and you want claims settled inside it. | Embedded in SAP ERP; manages pricing agreements and reimbursement claims for manufacturers and distributors; dedicated ship and debit components. | Value depends on being SAP-centred; implementation is an SAP project with SAP-specialist staffing. |
| Pricefx Channel Management | You already use, or are choosing, Pricefx for pricing. | Claims received by file or API, validated against agreements, special pricing and quotes; compliant claims auto-approved, exceptions flagged; approved claims written to the ERP as credit memos, with an audit trail. | Confirm semiconductor-specific POS and inventory reconciliation in a demo, not just claim calculation. |
| Native ERP processing (Oracle, Infor) | Modest claim volume and agreements that already live in the ERP. | Oracle Supplier Ship and Debit; Infor support for the EDI 844 claim, 849 response and 867 resale transactions. | The ERP can't validate a claim against a design registration or SPA held in the CRM — the join is where claims leak. |
| Nteli | A mid-market manufacturer that wants every claim line validated without replacing its ERP or adopting a pricing platform. | Standalone reconciliation module: each line matched to its EDI 867 resale record, design registration or SPA and contract price; inventory and duplicate checks; disputes with evidence; read-mostly ERP connection. | Not a pricing platform or a full rebate-program suite. If you need those in one system, the enterprise options above are the better fit. |

The one distinction that matters
Every tool on this list can calculate a claim. The question is whether it can prove the resale qualifies: that the part was bought and resold under the agreement it cites, to the end customer it names, in the quantity claimed, from inventory the distributor actually held.
That proof needs records from three places that rarely share a system: the agreement (design registration or SPA, usually in the CRM), the transactions (orders, invoices and credit memos, in the ERP) and the resale itself (the distributor's EDI 867 or POS file). A tool that only sees one or two of them is checking arithmetic, not entitlement.
A claim isn't wrong because it's big. It's unverified because checking it by hand costs more than paying it.
The demo test
Bring your own anonymised data — one real distributor claim file, its EDI 867 resale file and the special pricing agreement behind it — and ask each vendor to:
- Match each claim line to its resale record by distributor, invoice, line, part, end customer and quantity.
- Map the distributor's part number and end customer to your master data, and show what happens when it can't.
- Check the agreement: valid dates, eligible quantity, approved debit amount.
- Catch the bad lines: duplicates, resale with no matching agreement, and claims exceeding the distributor's inventory.
- Reject single lines without losing or rewriting the original submission.
- Trace an approved line all the way to the credit memo and the GL.
Any vendor, including us, should be able to run that on your file. The ones that ask to use their own sample data instead are telling you something.
How much is at stake
Nteli's engagement-derived planning rates — not survey statistics — put channel claim leakage at about 5% of channel revenue, with roughly 40% of it recoverable once every claim line is validated against its agreement. The arithmetic is on our benchmarks page, and the argument for treating this as reconciliation rather than reporting is in A ledger, not a dashboard.
Where Nteli is the wrong choice
- You want one platform for pricing, quoting and rebates. Vendavo or Pricefx will serve you better than a standalone module.
- You run SAP and want everything settled inside it. Vistex is built for exactly that.
- Your claim volume is small and your agreements already live in the ERP. Start with the ERP's native processing.
Where we fit: a mid-market company whose agreements sit in the CRM, whose transactions sit in an ERP it isn't replacing, and whose distributors file claims nobody has time to check line by line. More on the module itself: ship & debit reconciliation software; on the process: how ship & debit reconciliation works.
Run the demo test on your own claims.
